'By the Book' is Grace's follow up single to her debut 'Moving Now'. In her second release, Grace nods to the 80s with a dominant snare, stacked synths and guitars and a lyrical hook. 'By the Book' expresses the why-don't-you-drop-everything angst of infatuation to a danceable beat and catchy chorus. If there was a definable bridge between 70s rock tones, 80s excess and 90s vein, 'By the Book' would be it.
